MEAN MACHINE MAKES GUPPIES COMFORTABLY NUMB!

Glastonbury, CT August 1, 2012. ZRink - Killingworth Guppies Summer 2012 season.

08/01/2012-Maybe it was the fact that the Guppies had already wrapped up the # 1 seed or maybe it was the Pink Floyd pre-game music or a combination of both, whatever the execuse, the Guppies limp into the play-offs losers of 2 of their last 3.

The Guppies were without their # 1 goalie, but Brian Watson filled in quite well, making 42 saves on 48 shots.  The Guppies were also without Captain Brian Kelly, as he had a touch of the Mouse Flu.  The Guppies and the Mean Machine would exchange the first six goals of the game.  Keith Millen (3, 1, 4) would get his first of 3 goals from Tim Poulin (1, 1, 2).  Millen picked up his second goal unassistedand picked up his 3rd from Marc Crayton (0, 1, 1).  The Guppies would take the lead on a goal from Brian Mulcahy (1, 0, 1) on assists from Millen and Dan Pequita.  Mean Machine would tie it up just 41 seconds later, as no Guppies lead is ever safe.  Poulin would untie the score with 1 minute left, yet the Mean Machine would tie it back up with 28 seconds remaining.  The game went to over time and Mean Machine would get the final goal of the night within the 1st 40 seconds of overtime.

The Guppies will prepare for their play-offs run with dry land training this Wednesday, time and place to be determined.  It will be open to Guppies Nation members and the public.  Check out the website for the play-off schedule.
