GUPPIES END SLIDE, DEFEAT D-5, Final 5-2!

Glastonbury, CT August 1st, 2006. ZRink - Killingworth Guppies Summer 2006 season.

Guppies nation rejoiced as last night marked the return of Joe Linskey to the Guppies net after a week off spent refueling, relaxing & refocussing
for a Guppies play-off run. Joe looked like the "r & r" did him good as D-5 would get on the board 1st at the 18:16 mark of the 1st period on their
first shot. Meet the new Joe, same as the old Joe. The Guppies would make it 1 - 1 on a goal from Rob Murphy (2-2) set up by Mike Halle (0-1). Mike said," Jeez, I just settled the puck, Murph took it & the next thing I knew, the score was tied." D-5 would make it 2 to 1 on a power play goal at the 7:05 mark in the 1st. The Guppies would tie the score on what some Guppies fans thought they might never see, a tape to tape pass by Crayton (0-2) to Keith "It's Millen Time" Millen (1-0) who caught D-5 in a line change & walked in and tied the score. Rob Murphy put the Guppies ahead for good at the 2:36 mark in the 1st as he took the puck on an end to end rush capped off with a wrap a round goal reminiscent of EA Sports NHL Hockey 94 on Sega . The Guppies extended their lead as Jason Zito (2-0) would score at 17:05 in the 2nd. The "r & r" paid off for Joe in the 2nd half as he faced a barrage of D-5 shots and yielded no goals the entire 2nd half. JZ would add 1 more goal at 1:06 " on an assist from Brian Mulcahy (0-1). The Guppies were outshot 28 - 14. Veteran forward Dave Armenia on the Guppies being outshot but still winning the game, "When You Go the Extra Mile, It is Never Crowded!" Next game vs. Fireants North @ 10PM, the game will not be available on OLN in local markets so get your tickets now before they sell out.
