Official Game Summary |
Glastonbury, CT July 30, 2009. ZRink - Killingworth Guppies Summer 2009 season.
07/30/2009 - Guppies nation once again had another Guppies win to cheer about, don't get too excited but that is two in a row. Believe it or not the Guppies at one time won 27 games in a row and now 2 wins in a row constitutes a "winning streak." The Guppies dominated the 1st half, as Dan Pequita would start the scoring on a odd man rush with Jon Stevenson and Keith Millen getting the helpers. Jon Stevenson would later score the 1st of his 3 goals to give the Guppies a 2 - 0 lead. Jimmy Stick would cut the lead in half, but the Guppies would increase their lead as Tim Poulin would score on a set up from Marc Crayton and the Guppies would add another goal as Jon Stevenson scored his 2nd of the game Dan Pequita to Give the Guppies a 4 - 1 lead at half time. Outstanding goaltending by Guppies net minder Andy Pettola kept Jimmy Stick to only 1 goal.
The Guppies got on the board first in the 2nd half as Tim Poulin would score again, this time from Rob Murphy and Marc Crayton. Jimmy Stick would cut in to the lead with a goal, but the Guppies answered with 2 goals of their own. Keith Millen from Pequita and Stevenson, then Stevenson from Pequita and Millen.Guppies nation knows that no lead is safe and Jimmy Stick made things interesting by calling a time out and then pulling the goalie and eventually scoring the next 4 goals to pull within 1 goal. The Guppies would add an empty netter as Brian Kelly got the puck to Keith Millen to seal the victory.
The Guppies face off against the Avalanche
next Thursday night at 9 p.m., tickets are still available.
