Fire Ants Torch Guppies 7-3

Glastonbury, CT March 21, 2004. ZRink - Killingworth Guppies Spring 2006 season.

Mar. 12, 2006 - Tuesday 9pm, the Guppies faced off against a stat hungry Fire Ants North squad. The Guppies definitely had a little rust on the blades to start this game finding themselves behind 3 to nil after only 7 minutes. Linskey would keep the Guppies in the game rejecting numerous Ant scoring attempts throughout the remainder of the first period. Guppies Tim Poulin crashed the net and put one past the FA net minder to start the Guppy rally with just under 3 minutes remaining in the first half. Leaving the score 3-1 in favor of the Ants at the half.

Starting up the second period Halle connected with Millen in front for the Gupps second goal of the night just under 3 minutes in. Halle would go on to score 2 minutes later with a pass from Pequita to tie the game at 3 with 15 minutes left on the clock. The Ants would start their scoring run at 8 minutes in and put 4 unanswered goals past the Guppy squad sealing the deal at 7-3.

SIDE NOTES:

- Kelly and Prayzner were both healthy scratches Tuesday night.

- Mike Halle would get his first Gordie Howe hat trick of the season tonight with his goal, assist and penalty.
