Official Press Release

Guppies Extinguish South Windsor Fire 10-0

Glastonbury, CT March 17, 2005. ZRink - Killingworth Guppies Spring 2005 season.

March 17, 2004 - The Gupps started the 10th Anniversary season in impressive form taking down the South Windsor Fire Dept in the first 19 minutes of play. It could have been the luck of the Irish As Kelly, Linskey, and Murphy lead the way for the Guppies. It didn't take long for the Guppies to strike as Dan Pequita (1-3-4) scored 6 seconds in to the game with a low slap shot from the SW blue line. Killingworth controlled the play all night which made it an easy night for Linskey who only faced 5 shots. Linskey was quoted in the post game interview "It's my B-day and Kelly told me not to drink, It's also St Patty's day and I'm Irish,  Next time I'm going to get Ripped before the game!" Brian Kelly (2-3-5) would give the Gupps the 2-0 lead as he, Tim Poulin (2-2-4), and Rob Murphy (1-4-5) moved the ball around well all night. Things didn't get much better of South Windsor and they were going to turn worse as Craig Zito (3-0-3) scored walking across the slot.  Craig had missed a breakaway only moments early and was determined not to miss another opportunity. Poulin, Kelly, and C. Zito added goals giving the Gupps the 6-0 lead when Marc Crayton (1-1-2) scored at the 3:03 mark. Only seconds later Tim Poulin dumped in the ball on the South Windsor net, the ball eluded their netminder and went into the net. With just over  two minutes left in the half and the Gupps up 8-0, it was apparent at the Gupps were going Mercy South Windsor. The Gupps 10th goal came with just :33 seconds remaining as Craig Zito roofed a shoot into the SW net.....10-0, Game, set, match! The Gupps are still awaiting the finished schedule but will notify the fans when the receive it from the league
