Guppies Loss in Semi's of Xmas Tourney
12/26/2005- The Killingworth Guppies ran out of Gas during the Semi-Finals of the Zrink Xmas tournament. After playing the CT Predators in their final game of Round Robin part of the tournament the Guppies had little left as they faced off against the third place C&R Auto. The Guppies started the tournament in grand fashion as they faced off against The Pepsi Express. The Express and Guppies played an exciting game, but in the end the Guppies were just to much and went on to the 6-1 victory. Next the Guppies faced off against C&R Auto. The Game was chippy as C&R has a reputation for chippy play, however, the Guppies fought through and captured the 4-3 victory. In their last game of the Round Robin the Guppies faced off against the Predators in a match-up of the unbeaten teams. The Predators were by far the most talented team in the tournament. They would give Joe Linskey all he could handle in the Guppies net as the Fish were unable to stop the Predator's attack. However, the Gupps managed to score 4 goals on the Predators which is a feet in tself when you consider the Express scored only once and C&R was shutout twice by the Predators.
The Guppies finished 2nd in the Round Robin but were upset by C&R in the Semi Finals. In the other Semi Final the Predators beat the Express. The Finals were very lopsided as the Predators mercied C&R 8-0! Congrats to the Preds for a great run to the Championship. Thanks to the Zrink and all the teams involved for a great day of hockey!

12/14/2005- Killingworth Guppies Sportsnet announced earlier today that the Killingworth Guppies have agreed with Z-Rink management to have "America's Favorite Non-Professional Sports Franchise" participate in the ZRink's holiday tournament. The Guppies will be kicking it "Old School" as they will be skating in the ZRink's Ball Division for the tournament. When asked why the Guppies weren't playing puck, team spokesman Shasta McNasty sighted scheduling conflict as the reason for the move. "Several team members will be in Washington, DC visiting the President and presenting the Commander-In-Chief a Guppies Jersey followed by a dinner" stated McNasty. The meeting was set up back in July after the Gupps went undefeated in the 2005 Spring Season and won the Z-Rink Ball Division Champions.
The Z-Rink Christmas Tournament will be the Guppies second tournament this year. Earlier this season the Guppies skated in the Pepsi Express Invitational and went on to win that tournament.
Only a few details were available on the tournament at this point and time. All games will be played on December 26th with a projected start time of 7pm. Depending on the amount of teams that sign up the start time may change. Games will be 34 minutes long and the rules will be the same as ZRink regular season games. Tickets for the games will go on sale at 9am Monday December 19th and will be available at the Zrink ticket window and the Killingworth Circle Store. Also, any child under the age of 12 wearing a Guppies jersey will be admitted at no charge.
